Halloween is a moment filled with joy and ecstasy, but the tradition finds its way through the age-old Celtic traditions of Samhain, when the participants would encircle around the bonfires and dressed themselves in attires to draw off the elves, goblins and bad spirits. The 8th Century is seen as Pope Gregory III selected November 1 as the day for respecting the saints and thence All Saints Day had traditions and rituals as practiced during the Samhain traditions.  Later on, Halloween Day became prevalent in the Christian Societies and the Halloween Tradition soon turned into observing and organizing petite tricks and treatment, or social gatherings, lighting the Jack-o-Lanterns and adorning specially designed costumes and reveling in eating.

The festival of Halloween emanates from the Celtic harvest festival of Samhain, which became very popular in medieval Britain and Ireland. Over a period of time, in the middle of the mid-19th century, Halloween became famous in the United States. The traditional celebration became prominent when the Irish immigrants migrated to the USA and carried along with them the age-old customs and superstitions beliefs.
